Market intelligence, defined plainly.

These definitions are used across Gapperz marketing, onboarding, workspaces, alerts, the Lab, settings, and legal disclosures.

market data

Gap
Move from the prior regular-session close.
The percentage difference between the current or opening price and the prior regular-session close. Gap is not the same as intraday change.
Change
Price move over the labeled comparison period.
The signed price move over the period named in the interface. When no intraday period is shown, change uses the prior regular-session close.
RVOL
Current volume versus the normal volume at this time.
Relative volume compares cumulative volume with the typical cumulative volume at the same time of day over the available recent 20-session lookback. A shorter usable history is labeled when applicable.
Float source and confidence
Estimated tradable shares, with source quality.
Float is an estimate of publicly tradable shares. The product displays the source when supplied and grades confidence as high, medium, low, or unknown. Confidence describes source quality, not price direction.

ranking

Setup score
Rules-based ranking strength from 0 to 100.
A deterministic 0–100 ranking based on the scanner’s documented price, volume, liquidity, catalyst, and risk inputs. It ranks attention; it is not a probability, prediction, or recommendation.
Trigger and invalidation
The condition to monitor and the condition that breaks the thesis.
A trigger is the price or evidence condition selected for attention. Invalidation is the condition that makes that setup no longer fit its stated premise. Neither is an instruction to trade.

evidence

Catalyst confidence and freshness
Source quality and age of a possible price-moving event.
Catalyst confidence describes the quality of the attached source and match. Freshness is the elapsed time since the source timestamp. An old or low-confidence catalyst remains visibly labeled.
Historical evidence status
Whether a versioned outcome dataset passed its release gate.
Numerical V1 outcomes are quarantined. Future V2 evidence identifies its method, sample construction, missingness, uncertainty, costs, and holdout state, and remains unavailable until its forward-session gate passes.

system state

Live, delayed, stale, and replay
The delivery state and freshness of displayed market data.
Live means updates are arriving within the product freshness threshold. Delayed means the feed intentionally trails the market. Stale means expected updates have stopped or aged beyond the threshold. Replay is recorded data presented for review rather than a live market.
